A tale of joining forces ..

Those involved came from all corners of Wales and covered all the sectors.. from Farm to Finish and beyond .. all had their own projects/businesses.

The common thread was our frustration at the current status quo and passion for the potential of this natural sustainable resource .. WOOL.

We realised that we had common goals but needed to focus our objectives, amplify our voices and create strategic actions to ensure we delivered real change to support the industry.

In August 2022 Jacqui (now our Chair) created an umbrella,  which united the businesses and "cluster" .. naming it the WELSH WOOL ALLIANCE  .. a home which reflected our individuality but gave us a common voice from which to build a legacy.   

• We then defined our purpose and key goals within the mission to drive value back to Welsh Wool.  
• We established a formal entity of non profit
• We created a 3 year vision, building on the momentum of our policy, commercial and promotional successes of 2022.
• We helped place wool at the heart of Welsh Politics with the formation of a cross party group dedicated to Wool at the Senedd, on which we sit. 
• We have held key events at the Senedd and beyond and created inspirational campaigns and presentations showing how Wool is the new Gold - and the potential for the industry.  
• We continue to educate and invigorate change in the sector through educational presentations.  
• We also have a number of projects which will help deliver our goals.
• We have supported commercial collaborations, aligning potential.
